We’re off to the races! Extravagant hats, mint juleps, and risky bets—that’s right, the most exciting two minutes of sports is almost here. In honor of this year’s Kentucky Derby, we decided to put a new spin on the classic mint julep by switching up bourbon for Chardonnay.

What you’ll need:
Glass: Rocks
Garnish: Mint Sprig
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Roth, Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast (or your favorite bottle!)
- 1 tsp Bourbon Barreled Maple Syrup
- 1 oz Coffee Liqueur
- 5-6 Mint Leaves
- Splash (or to taste) Club Soda
Note: If you can’t find bourbon barreled maple syrup, regular maple syrup works perfectly.
Steps:
Inside rocks glass, muddle mint together with bourbon barreled maple syrup until mint aromas and flavors are released. Add ice, coffee liqueur and wine. Stir gently. Finish with a splash of club soda to add a refreshing crisp taste to every sip. Cheers!
